Creative Cluetrain
Wow!
Artist Chandler Pritchett's ArtMemphis 2.0 is a digital native's spitball, targeted at Memphis' tired (and expensive -- spend the money on art!) PR and advertising strategies for arts advocacy.
It's a great piece, and any arts leader in Memphis who doesn't read it tomorrow should be fired the day after tomorrow (announced by their successor in a tweet).

I like the cluetrain reference! I've seen the 95 theses but never read the book. Should I pick up a copy?
I hope none of the people that I've been talking to get fired tomorrow:) Thanks for the write-up. Do you have any other suggestions for ways to get these creative leaders engaged?
daniel, absolutely. Depending on how much command-and-control you're exposed to, it might make you angry, but a good angry.
chandler, thanks for writing that. I hope they're not either (since that will mean they read your post). re: other suggestions, just keep hammering your theses. And show respectful irreverence towards the more hidebound ideas.
