A Good Hallows Evening!

I love Sivad.

Because his looks scared in a way most vampires don't - more "London After Midnight" Lon Chaney (as John Beifuss noted after Sivad's passing last year) than "Plan-9" Bela Lugosi. Because his sense of humor only increased his menace. Because he drove around Overton Park in that beautiful horse-drawn hearse. That horse-drawn hearse. That music. Because I knew he was somewhere in Memphis.

Requiescat in pace, Sivad!

And I was about to put this post back in the tomb (Sivad should only come out once in a while).

I don't know where the hearse came from. When Watson Davis, the actor who played Sivad, died last year, John Beifuss of the Commercial Appeal wrote a great obituary. Beifuss may have gone into the story of the hearse, but the article is firewalled now.

Thanks for reading!
